March 2015

In the summer of 1977, before her senior year at college, Sarah attended a study-abroad program in Spain. The group lived in Seville for most of the session plus a week in Madrid.

In 2015 Sarah finally returned to Spain. This time she brought Kermit along.

Above, a mosaic in the style of Joan Miró in La Rambla, the main drag of the old city.
Miró was from Barcelona.

Right, the monument to Christopher Columbus.
After his first trip to the New World the explorer reported
to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand here in Barcelona.
Spain takes great pride in its connections to Columbus.
Right, lunch at the Mercado de La Boqueria.
We quickly became fans of taking breaks for tapas and drinks.
