A Wee Bit of Scotland
August 2013

Another family trip! Four people, nine days, three castles, two countries.

We begin the trip in Edinburgh, Scotland.

On our first evening we attended
the world famous Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
It is held on the grounds of the Edinburgh Castle.
The show was wonderful and the setting was breath-taking.
There were performers from around the world. At left, Korea.
At the conclusion of the event there are fireworks
and a lone bagpiper playing on the ramparts of the castle.
Another event was going on in Edinburgh-- the Fringe Festival.
The Royal Mile is filled with visitors and street performers.
There are also demonstrations of local traditions, such as this spinning wheel.

The air is filled with the sound of bagpipers.
